It’s not easy to be elegant and stylish in cold weather and I have to admit that wearing heavy clothing is not my thing. Thank God for layering, a fashionista’s only hope of creating a stylish outfit while managing to stay warm. I didn’t do anything groundbreaking today, just a classic button shirt-cardi combo, with a some teal accessories to make it more interesting. It wasn’t the warmest outfit for this weather, but again I’m always cold, no matter how many clothes I wear. What can I say, I’m a summer person!

I’ve worn this dress once before in another post, but it was styled in a totally different way. Tonight I was in a more dark and edgy mood so I decided to put together a total black outfit, with dark lips. I’m wearing the shoes that don’t fit me (remember when I told you they turned out to be a size smaller?), for which I didn’t get a refund after all so I’m not buying from that retailer ever again! At least I can wear them for my blog every once in a while so it’s not a total loss.
Also, I’m wearing a pair of lace leggings that I bought a couple of years ago to wear when I go tango dancing. The dress code in Milongas (events where you dance and listen to Tango Argentino) involves dresses or skirts with leggings and tango shoes and the styling is very vampish and retro. I love it!

The following week is going to be extremely busy for me and I apologize in advance if it will take me a while to answer to your comments, but please know that I appreciate every single one!

I bet you would expect to see something glamorous and ladylike judging from this title! I’m sorry if I’m disappointing you, but I don’t have the time or the strength to put together something more than just a simple outfit like this. Though it has something special, which is the silk blouse with the lace detail. I recently discovered it in my mum’s closet and it belonged to my grandmother. I love blouses and silk shirts, especially if they’re vintage. I have already planned lots of outfits for it in my mind. But it has to be styled in a way that doesn’t say “granny”! Which means, it has to be worn with something bold, casual or edgy underneath and on top. Today, it’s the casual version...

Tonight I’m staying in, watching DVDs and eating souvlaki! I’m so incredibly tired that I’m actually looking forward to just relax and do nothing! Have a lovely Saturday night, whatever you do...

Today was another busy day, and the weekend is going to be just the same. But tonight I’m visiting some friends because I really need to have a break and spend a nice evening chatting and/or playing board games. This is the outfit I’m going to wear and maybe even add a pair of tights underneath my jeans cause it’s coooold outside (and even colder where I’m going).

What are you up to tonight? Do you like to go out on a cold night or just stay home under the duvet?

I was going to go with “Cape fear” (like the movie) but it sounded too serious. And there’s nothing frightening about this cape (or me I hope, haha). So, about the whole cape trend which was so big this season, what do you think? Did you embrace it? I was kind of in between, because although I love seeing it on other people I’m not used to wearing it. I borrowed this cape from my mother and I thought I could skip buying one for myself. I don’t see this trend lasting for a long time, but if I’m wrong, I can still buy one next year. I would go for the belted type, which seems to be more my style.

Another one of my sales purchases is this beautiful leopard blouse. It has an elastic waist which you cannot see here since it’s tucked underneath my skirt. I styled it in a formal way with an 80’s feel to it, while the make up is inspired by a Gucci runway show (a/w 2009 by Pat McGrath). I wouldn’t normally use these colors with this outfit (I would go with earthly tones, browns with black and nude lips), but I was in the mood for something more dramatic and retro.

I saw this film a few days ago and I really enjoyed it. The atmosphere and the era reminded me of the film “The Doors”, because there was a lot of drugs, sex and rock and roll and all the craziness of that time. Both movies are about bands, but to be honest I didn’t know the story of “The runaways” up until now. If you haven’t heard of them either, then you must definitely know their guitar player/song writer, Joan Jett. She is a great musician and singer and if you see the film you’ll realize that some people are destined to shine and to become famous.
What I also like about the film is the clothes. Apart from a few crazy outfits, the rest are totally in the spirit of this spring’s fashion, because the movie is set in the 70’s. I got lots of inspiration from it for spring/summer outfits, as well as for today’s post!

I went to the post office today to get my delivery from Linzy shoes (new amazing ankle boots, yay) and on the way home I couldn’t resist not buying a few things from H&M. Not much left on the sales rack, but I managed to find a few nice bargains! They will be featured in future posts... ;)

I have been eyeing these ever since they started appearing in most fashion blogs, but I decided to take my chances and wait for the sales. I was lucky enough to find the last pair at my local Zara (and even luckier because they were my size). I wore them today for the first time and got out to run some errands. They pinched my feet a bit, but most Zara shoes are quite stiff at first. I still love them though!
I also rediscovered this knit bolero in my closet which is very warm and can come in handy with sleeveless tops (worn over or underneath).

Knit bolero: Ahileas accessories
Sleeveless knit: unknown brand
Jeans: Boohoo
Ankle boots, bag and trench (from last year): Zara

I had left my Mulberry (for target) bag on the floor and when I got back I found this:

You could think that it is a fur scarf, but it’s not! It’s Loulou!!!

I didn’t know whether to “strangle” or to cuddle her! She looked so adorable but still I had to clean my bag afterwards! Silly cat...

I had planned a themed outfit for today, but work got most of my day and by the time I finished I was too tired to do anything more than a simple outfit post. But I got some lovely requests in my last post and I promise to do them as soon as possible.
This outfit was inspired by the stylish Kate Lanphear (US Elle, Style Director). She is so effortlessly chic in a more edgy and often androgynous way, while you can spot some punk influence even in her more feminine outfits. Unfortunately I can’t find a photo of my inspiration outfit but I can picture it in my head. What I liked the most was the studded belt with the girly skirt.

Too sleepy to think of a question tonight so a simple goodnight will have to suffice!

I bought this dress last summer and never actually wore it (it’s a dress worn as a top). The puffy shoulders remind me of Alexis Colby’s style. Remember the show Dynasty? I loved watching it mostly because I thought that my parents looked a lot like Crystal and Blake. Come to think of it, they did (minus the huge mansion and the companies, lol).
Today I had so much to do at home and I feel extremely tired, I’m surprised I had the courage to do all this. And tomorrow is going to be just the same, but I also have another “back to back” outfit in mind. The good thing is that my brother loves these themes so he doesn’t mind photographing me!

I usually wear wooden jewelry during the summer. But somehow this necklace and the bracelets seemed to go very well with this outfit. The boots are my mum’s and are so lovely. They have the perfect buttery leather and a very beautiful color.
I didn’t include a photo of my eye make up because I woke up really early today and didn’t feel like doing anything more than applying an eyeshadow and mascara.

Do you think that some pieces of jewelry cannot be worn at winter or summer?
